General Surgery
People are often confused by the term general surgery. Some think it means a simplified way of performing surgery and others think it means surgery that doesn't require specialized training.
General surgery encompasses a number of specific surgeries associated with the organs in a person's torso. A general surgeon could perform a gallbladder removal surgery (known as a cholecystectomy) in the morning and a thyroid gland surgery in the afternoon. As general surgeons, Drs.
